‘Am I OK?’ Paused After Positive Covid Test
Published by: |   (0) Comments      Read MORE      Filed Under: Am I OK?, Movies, News

According to Deadline ‘Am I Ok?’ had to stop production after Dakota’s assistant was diagnosed with Covid-19. Hope Dakota and the rest of the crew are ok and they can go back filming soon!

Dakota Johnson stars in the Lauren Pomerantz-scripted movie that follows lifelong best friends Lucy and Jane. However, when Jane announces she’s moving from Los Angeles to London for a job, Lucy reveals a deeply buried, long-held secret. As Jane tries to help Lucy sort through old patterns and new feelings, their lifelong friendship is thrown into chaos.

Sonoya Mizuno, Jermaine Fowler, Whitmer Thomas, Molly Gordon, June Diane Raphael, Notaro and Sean Hayes also star.

Said a production spokesperson, “Earlier this week a supporting member from production on our film Am I OK? tested positive for Covid-19. The diagnosis was confirmed as a result of required and ongoing testing that all members of production receive. We are currently following all required safety protocols and have paused production until next week to allow for shooting to continue while maintaining strict safety standards pursuant to government and guild policies.”

Deadline hears from sources that it was Johnson’s assistant who tested positive. Nonetheless, until this vaccine takes its full strength in calming Covid, these are the types of precautions and safeguards productions need to ahve in continuing to work. Production pauses are just part of the process and are to be expected in this continued pandemic climate.

Am I OK? is produced by Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell through Gloria Sanchez Productions, Johnson and Ro Donnelly via TeaTime Pictures, Notaro and Allynne via their Something Fierce label, Erik Feig and Lucy Kitada through Picturestart, and Pomerantz. Executive producers include Royce Reeves-Darby for Picturestart and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez. Picturestart is financing.

The High Note is out now on HBO MAX. Thanks to PureWow (via Acta Non Verba) for this amazing news.

What do you get when you combine Tracee Ellis Ross and Dakota Johnson? This must-watch flick, that’s what.

HBO Max just added The High Note to its massive database. Although the movie originally premiered back in May 2020, this is the first time it’s been available on the streaming service.

The High Note offers a realistic glimpse into the Los Angeles music scene. The story follows Grace Davis (Ross), a high-maintenance pop star who is letting her fame go to her head. Her poor assistant, Maggie (Johnson), takes the majority of her wrath, running errands and fetching coffee, even though she dreams of becoming a music producer.

‘Cult Following’: Dakota & Riley Keough To Star In A Ne...

If there is a subgenre of documentaries that seems to be almost as popular as true-crime in today’s society, it’s cult docs. People love to hear about life inside of cults and what it takes to leave the scary groups. Well, thanks to the combined efforts of Dakota Johnson and Riley Keough, we’re going to get a glimpse at a situation like that in the upcoming series, “Cult Following.”

As reported by Deadline, Dakota Johnson and Riley Keough are set to star in and produce a new limited series titled “Cult Following,” based on the memoir from author Bexy Cameron. The true story follows a young woman (Johnson) that is part of the Children of God cult. After escaping the clutches of the group, she goes off with her friend (Keough) to travel around the country and find other people such as herself and tell the stories of what it’s like to live in a horrible group such as that.

“It has been a dream of ours since we launched TeaTime to collaborate with Riley and Gina at Felix Culpa,” said Johnson and producing partner Ro Donnelly. “We are beyond thrilled to join forces and friendship to bring Bexy’s remarkable story to the screen. Alongside Platform One, we look forward to adding the final top notch collaborators to the team.”

“We are so thrilled to bring Bexy’s incredible story to television alongside our dear, beautiful friends at TeaTime, Dakota and Ro,” added Keough and her producing partner Gina Gammell. “We couldn’t dream of better collaborators for this. Thank you Platform One, we can’t wait for this adventure.”

As the project is still in its infancy, it’s unclear the specifics about who might direct the series, and of course, where we might see “Cult Following” land. Obviously, this is the type of show that has “streaming service” written all over it, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we see someone like Netflix, Amazon, or Apple snatch it up.
